We're looking for enthusiastic London based 16-25 year olds to join the Trees for Cities Youth Programme and get stuck in with planting and protecting urban trees. This group of young people will develop skills, confidence and knowledge whilst volunteering alongside one of the UK's leading environmental charities, that is dedicated to improving people’s lives through planting trees in cities.
The Youth Programme is a six month project that will run from October 2023 to March 2024, involving six in-person training sessions in London parks and greenspaces. Trees for Cities will teach participants how to plant and protect urban trees and how to inspire other young people to do the same.
This is a fantastic opportunity for personal development and a great way to gain first-hand experience of working in a leading environmental charity, whilst picking up urban forestry skills along the way. Perfect for any young person with a keen interest in the environment, who is passionate about joining the fight against the climate crisis and wants to build a greener future for both themselves and future generations.
What’s in it for you?
- Free Tree ID books to help you identify your local trees.
- Connect with other young people via our events and news forum.
- Develop knowledge and skills around planning, planting and maintaining urban trees
- Feel empowered and inspire a new generation to take action against the climate crisis
- Learn about the need for both planting and protecting urban trees with urban communities
- Affect real change through a key environmental charity with both national and global impact

About Trees for Cities
Trees for Cities is the only UK charity working at a national and international scale to improve lives by planting trees in cities. We get stuck in with local communities to cultivate lasting change in their neighbourhoods – whether it's revitalising forgotten spaces, creating healthier environments or getting people excited about growing, foraging and eating healthy food.
