This work is all about making sure we have a healthy stream of people coming into the sector from all walks of life and ensuring they have enough options for a long and successful career.
The current skills shortages and succession planning crisis is already having a detrimental impact on arboriculture. Addressing these issues is a key part of the Association’s strategy.
By taking advantage of the profile of trees and by promoting arboriculture as a profession, we can work towards a situation where young people and career changers see arboriculture as a viable, diverse, exciting and rewarding profession for them.
Much like tree care itself, we need to invest time, money and resources into this issue now so that the benefits of our efforts will be felt by future generations.
