Tree Diagnostics, provides a range of equipment to help Arborists make better-balanced well-informed decisions to manage trees based on evidence. Helped by technology.
We offer the full range of Fakopp's Enterprises equipment wide range of tree investigation systems to help you make better-informed decisions when managing decisions on borderline trees.
The Fakopp range includes:
Microsecond Timer - This compact and pocket-friendly is now available with Low Energy Bluetooth. This rapid one-shot test helps understand a tree's internal condition and sends data directly to your phone or tablet.
Arborsonic 3D Sonic tomogram (SOT) - Takes the process of decay mapping to the next level by combining tree and local site information and using the trees' own Bio-mechanics to help provide a Safety Factor. Help move away from an assessment based solely upon concerns about how 'Hollow is safe.'
ArborElectro Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) – This system allows subtle early-stage changes by fungal colonisation, incipient decay, or dysfunctional areas of vessels to be seen before they are visible to us; it's especially useful in helping manage Brittle Cinder (Kretzschmaria deusta), which other system may overlook.
"Is that Tree Safe?" is an all too common question. Trying to answer that confidently, particularly when dealing with trees with below-ground decay or trees that have been affected by site changes which can be difficult.
Static (Tree Pulling) Test and Dynamic Testing use the wind to test the trees' rootplate resistance to overturning and the resistance of the main stem to fracture. These non-destructive methods allow trees to be tested and modelled against known current and potential wind conditions and provide a level of confidence that's unmatched.
For tree owners and managers who don't want to commit fully to this equipment, we offer a full testing and reporting service to help provide this information to you directly. So whether you want detailed mapping of the Root System using Ground Penetrating Radar (Root RADAR), need to know about the rooting stability using either Static or Dynamic Systems, need an assessment of the tree stem or leaders using Thermal Imaging, decay mapping using Sonic and Electrical Tomography or are interested in the vitality of the tree using Chlorophyll Fluorescence, or need part or all of your tree and its site mapping in 3D, we are here to help.
Our range of small tools, mallets, probes, increment borers, tree tags, measuring tapes, and more will help you whilst on site.
We are here to help you make the best decisions based on the information, helping save trees that would have been removed without a second thought until recently.
