Course Objectives:

By the end of this course you will be able to:
• Understand what a healthy tree requires and factors that can disrupt normal function.
• Follow a repeatable, methodical approach to examining trees.
• Make a diagnosis based on your observations.
• Identify sources of further information/help.
• Understand how to provide management advice.
• Understand the need for biosecurity and implement good practice during the course of your work.

Course Content:

Course Content:

This newly revised course is delivered online (via Zoom) in two sessions. Session 1 covers; A healthy tree, Invasive species, Examining the tree, Making a diagnosis and Using a reference book. Session 2 covers; Example pest, diseases or disorders, Management advice, and Biosecurity

The instructor will set two tasks to be completed between the two sessions. Please ensure you allow sufficient time to complete this (1 hour).

Materials provided: (sent at least one week prior to the course):

  •        AA Tree Pests and Diseases book 
  •        Diagnosis of ill health in trees

 

Delivery:

Via Zoom – please ensure that you have a Zoom account and that your camera and audio are in working order.

Session 1 - Monday 30 November 09.30 - 12.30

Session 2 - Monday  7 December 09.30 - 12.30
