Bats and Trees

Most bat species live in trees. Despite this, very few arborists encounter bats during their work. So where are they? Bats can use up to 50 trees in a year. Spread across so many different locations, bats switch trees every 3-4 days. Encounter rates in a single tree can be as low as 5%. So how do we effectively survey for and protect these important species? Jim will present the findings of on-going research which is improving the chances of recording bats in trees.

12:00

Paul Smith,
Arboricultural Association

Approved Contractor Scheme

What is the Arb Approved Contractor Scheme, and how to achieve it.

13:00

14:00

Henri Ghijben,
Tree Surgeons Business Academy and Mastermind

How to get more time in your Arb business

A lot of Tree Surgery business owners find themselves absorbed in the day-to-day running of their Company, rather than working on high value tasks to develop the business. Henri aims to provide tips and tricks we incorporate in his larger Tree Surgery team to keep the higher management working on tasks that push the company forward, instead of putting out fires our teams can handle. Small compound time saving we know snowballs into hours of savings in lost time, this is normally the separator from a director being overrun or quoting and handling admin in their spare time.
