As the leading voice on all matters arboricultural in the UK, the Arboricultural Association provides a home and membership for all those employed within the sector; championing the sustainable management of trees in places where people live, work and play – for the benefit of society.

We provide the standards, training, support and recognition that put our members, in the UK and overseas, at the peak of their profession.

The Arboricultural Association is looking to recruit a Technical Officer (Scheme Manager) who will eventually, following appropriate handover periods, take over responsibility for the following duties :–

  • Management, development and growth of the Approved Contractor accreditation scheme(s)
  • Management and delivery of the ARB Show
  • Staff representative on Association Working Groups (UAG/AWG)
  • Staff representative on a range of appropriate Industry bodies
  • Development, management and production and/or review of industry facing guidance
  • Technical Project activity as directed by the Technical Director and/or CEO
  • Assisting the AA staff team with member and public facing activities

There will be a handover period where the successful candidate will be working closely with Paul Smith, the current Technical Manager of the Accreditation schemes. Paul will be moving to a part-time role, delivering a range of Association activity in the South West of England, in the summer of 2020.
