The Association’s two pilot workshops for aspiring Registered Consultants this spring proved so popular that they were over-subscribed and we now have a waiting list for a third.
Entitled ‘Aspiring Registered Consultants’ Preparation Workshop’, the one-day event was designed to provide information about the Registered Consultant (RC) scheme for anyone considering future application.
The workshop is one of a range of developments the Association is introducing to help improve access to, and increase take up of, the RC scheme.
The events were delivered by HQ staff and existing Registered Consultants, including the Lead Assessor and one of the other assessors for the scheme. One of the highlights was a session in which three existing RCs gave candid descriptions of their experience of the application process (not everyone is successful first time, or indeed, second or third time …) and their on-going experiences, including the extent to which their business has benefitted from the scheme.
The presentations were designed to provide factual and objective information about the application process, to de-mystify the submission requirements for application and to offer support to those considering application. One lucky attendee at each workshop won the prize draw which entitles them to a free RC application – provided it is received within 12 months.
Initial feedback has been very positive, and we are currently planning a date and venue for the third event which will be run in the autumn.
