We’re currently seeking a Forestry Officer with a proactive mindset and a passion for sustainable urban forestry to join our dedicated team.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience in managing both rural and urban tree stock and woodlands.
- A strong track record in planning and delivering forestry projects and programmes.
- Specialist technical knowledge of arboriculture practices, planning legislation, and proficiency in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and database systems.
- The ability to problem-solve independently and manage your own workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and listening—particularly when engaging with members of the public.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work well within a team.

This is an essential car user role. You will be required to travel across the borough to conduct tree inspections. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled applicants where required.
