An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Arboriculture Manager to join the Ecology and Trees team within our Neighbourhood and Green Spaces directorate.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced arboriculture practitioner to join the Ecology and Trees team to manage our statutory functions, such as responding to planning consultations, TPO administration and field work to ensure the health of our woodland and trees. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be line managing the Arboriculture team and will have the opportunity to shape and develop the team for the future. You will also have the chance to work on various projects, including planting 160,000 new trees, contributing to environmental enhancement schemes and working closely with our tree nursery.
About You
You will have a genuine appreciation of trees in their natural setting and will also have extensive experience of managing trees in a town planning context. You will have a relevant qualification and extensive working knowledge of arboriculture and TPOs, particularly in relation to planning consultations and technical requirements. With the Council recognising the climate change and environmental emergency, managing both our current and future tree stock has never been more important.
