Winchester City Council is looking for a Arboricultural Manager to join the Sustainability & Natural Environment Team.

As part of the team, your role will be to be responsible for the management of the trees owned and/or maintained by the council and provide an arboricultural service to the public and other Council Departments within the framework of relevant legislation, statutory requirements, national standards and in keeping with Department and Corporate Objectives.

The role will work across the council and with a range of external stakeholders and agencies to implement the Tree Strategy in line with the Carbon Neutrality Action Plan and the Biodiversity Action Plan.

An ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential, as is good organisational skills and an ability to manage your own workload and time, as well as manage members of the tree team. This role will see you come into contact with members of the public, partners, contractors & suppliers, planners and councillors, as well as other sections of the council, so excellent communication skills are a must.
