This course, split over two half-day sessions, will provide delegates with the information necessary to undertake a tree survey and categorise trees in accordance with BS5837.

At the end of the first half-day session, delegates will be set a homework task. When booking, delegates should ensure that they allow sufficient time to undertake this work (approx. 1hr) before the next session; sessions are typically spaced one week apart. Delegates will be required to share and discuss the findings obtained during the homework task.

It is advised that anyone undertaking BS5837 surveys has access to a copy of BS5837:2012.
Tree surveying equipment:
- Camera
- Diameter tape
- Electronic laser distance measurer or measuring tape/wheel
- Height measuring device (Hypsometer, clinometer, etc.)
