The 2023-24 webinar series breaks all records with a total of 9,422 viewers from 62 countries.

Social media following increases from 70k to more than 100k.

New Approved Contractor Standards released – these are reviewed annually and updated as required. Several new assessors were also recruited.

Arboricultural Association 60th Anniversary

The 60th anniversary of the founding of the Association is marked at major events and in the ARB Magazine throughout 2024.

David Lonsdale passes away

Legend of Arboriculture David Lonsdale passes away. Through his 26 years of service at Forest Research, extensive publications, and long-standing support for the Ancient Tree Forum, he made an exceptional contribution to our understanding of trees and their care.

VETcert examinations

Across the year, the staff team organises and runs VETcert examinations for 41 practical and 22 consulting candidates.

The Association recruits more than 40 Arb Ambassadors to help fulfil requests for anything from careers and schools talks to community events and tree walks.

Over 6000 visitors attend ARB Show 2024 at Westonbirt.

DART relief effort after Hurricane Beryl

The Disaster Arborist Response Team is deployed to Grenada to assist in the relief effort after Hurricane Beryl. The charity sends a team of chainsaw operators to the region.

The Association releases 3 Actions for Arboriculture ahead of the General Election, encouraging all parties and candidates to acknowledge the importance of tree care and establishment.

Jo Hedger with Arboricultural Association Award

Jo Hedger is presented with the 2024 Arboricultural Association Award, in recognition of her work as an outstanding ambassador for the tree care community in the UK and around the world.

Neil Davies

Neil Davies is elected as the Association’s 28th Chair of Trustees.

Association Conference

More than 350 delegates attend the 2nd consecutive conference at the University of Warwick.
